Apple Introduces iOS 10.3.3 for iPad & iPhone to Thwart Potential Wi-Fi Hack

insights July 28, 2017

Apple Inc. has recently launched the latest iOS 10.3.3 update for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Earlier, the iOS 10.3.2 update has introduced by the company on the 15th May. If you compare the latest version with earlier one, you will find that it is a minor point release with security improvements as well as bug fixes for iOS 10.3.

This update included a lot of incredible features such as weather forecasts in the Maps App, a Podcasts app widget, an Apple ID settings menu, renovating the file system, new app animations, and iCloud storage meter, etc.

It is available either free over the air through the Software update mechanism or through iTunes. On your iOS device, you have to just go to settings, then General and thereafter, Software Update.

If you want to apply it through iTunes, you have to connect your gadget to a computer through a USB cable -> launch iTunes -> choose your product from the list. Thereafter, just click on the Summary Tab and subsequently, click on the button ‘Check for Update’.

Similarly, the Mac users can go to the App Store and thereafter, choose the Updates tab. Here, you will find macOS Sierra 10.12.6 that you can download for your Mac.

On the other hand, if you are owner of an iPad mini 2 or later, iPad 4th generation or later and an iPhone 5 or later, you can start the procedure later on. The download size may vary by carrier and device; but it ranges from 80 to 100 Megabytes. But before proceedings, some people have to clear some storage space as it needs 84.6 MB of space.

These days, hackers always find opportunity for vulnerabilities in outdated devices and system to make them target easily. So, companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft may release updates for fixing the bugs. No matter, whether people will download them or not.

Since May 16 this year, the company is doing testing iOS 10.3.3 just after releasing earlier version. During short beta testing, there are no outward-facing features and changes were found. Hence, it seems that this version focuses on security enhancements, bug fixes, and other improvements just like iOS 10.3.2.

For computers, the company has launched macOS Sierra 10.12.6, whilst for all Apple Watches, it released watchOS 3.2.3. Plus, the tvOS 10.2.2 is available for Apple TV 4th generation. On the other hand, if you are a Microsoft user, you can get a boost with iTunes 6.2.2 and iCloud 6.2.2 for Windows 7 and later.

If we talk about Windows iOS 10, it focused on the Lock screen and stock apps. On the other hand, the next-generation operating system pays attention on multitasking features, for example, an app picker and drag-and-drop menu.

Apart from this, there will be a consolidated control center, more expressive and natural Siri, and more messages-compatible apps and stickers. Plus, the App Store will also have a new facelift.

The company has also introduced earlier iOS 11 which was open only for Apple Developer program members. But the last month, public beta version just arrived that allows the participants to identify the bugs easily.

Besides, there is also a new feature in 12.9 inch iPad Pro i.e. new wallpapers. But the main interest of the company is to fix the official security page of iOS 10.3.3. The company used Broadcom chips in all the iOS devices. The analyst, Nitay Artenstein, has identified the bug said that it will affect all Broadcom BCM43xx chips. The devices containing BCM43xx chips will be more vulnerable, if they don’t get the latest update.
